Spring is here (again!) and we can already feel warmer and lighter days. Feels almost like an automatic thing after good spring cleaning to also update the décor accordingly with the season. Store the heavier fabrics and knits in their happy place to welcome more colorful and breathable ones.

Although so we don’t go crazy on overdoing every time a season changes, adding a few touches can definitely make the difference.

Neutrals in fabrics like linen or organic cotton are a must for us. They serve as the perfect base when we feel we need a sudden makeover of any room. Taking out your basics and mixing and matching them with some bold color or cool pattern cushions can be one of the easiest things to accomplish that desired refresh we long, after the cold winter days.

Materials are everything, and this year we’re keeping them natural. Now is the time to take that rattan or wood chair from your patio/balcony/terrace and get it inside for a more breezy feel. Swapping the chunkier winter rug for a jute or an artisanal one can wrap up the room in lighter ways.

As Spring calls for bringing the outside in, think about the still life that is blooming and head to your local market for some fresh flowers. Think of them around the house on ceramic vases or colored glass vessels ( 😍), fresh plants on top desks or coffee tables, and fruits on bowls complementing your tableware.

Something that we sometimes don’t think about changing as often is the art or decorative wall items. If you were thinking about adding a gallery wall, buying some wall décor, or a simple thing like just changing picture frames…now may be the time for it. Small things like swapping materials on things you already have can be a great hack.
